Hi there, Pioneer Families!
We are excited to announce that Pope Valley Elementary School will host a three-day Cinco de Mayo celebration from May 1 through May 3, 2024. This year, we are partnering with Napa County to host a fun and educational festival for our students. This festive occasion allows our school community to come together, celebrate Latinx culture, and have a great time! Here's what you can expect during our Cinco de Mayo festivities:
Wednesday, May 1: School Spirit Field Day
We kick off our celebration with a spirited School Spirit Field Day! Students will participate in various fun activities including a tie-dye activity to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and school spirit. We encourage all students to dress in red, white, or black to show off their Pope Valley pride!
Thursday, May 2: All-Day Festival for the Kids
We will transform our school grounds into a vibrant, festival atmosphere, featuring engaging crafts and interactive activities for all students as we celebrate the rich heritage and traditions of Cinco de Mayo.
Friday, May 3: Folklorico Show and Learning Lesson
On the final day of our celebration, we will immerse ourselves in the beauty of Mexican Folklorico. Our students will witness captivating performances of traditional dances. As part of the program, students will not only learn about the history and significance of Folklorico but also have the opportunity to try on traditional dance outfits and learn some dance moves. We warmly invite all parents and Pope Valley family members to join us for this event.

¡Hola Familias Pioneras!
Nos da gusto anunciar que la Escuela Primaria Pope Valley organizará una celebración del Cinco de Mayo de tres días del 1 al 3 de mayo de 2024. Este año, nos asociaremos con el condado de Napa para organizar un festival educativo y divertido para nuestros estudiantes. ¡Esta ocasión festiva permite que nuestra comunidad escolar se reúna y celebre la cultura latina!
Miércoles 1 de mayo: Día de campo
¡Comenzamos nuestra celebración con un día de campo! Los estudiantes participarán en varias actividades divertidas, incluyendo una actividad de teñido anudado para promover el esfuerzo en equipo, la camaradería y el espíritu escolar. ¡Animamos a todos los estudiantes a vestirse de rojo, blanco o negro para mostrar su orgullo por Pope Valley!
Jueves 2 de mayo: Festival infantil
Los terrenos de nuestra escuela se transformarán en un vibrante festival, con atractivas manualidades y actividades interactivas para todos los estudiantes mientras celebramos la rica herencia y tradiciones del Cinco de Mayo.
Viernes 3 de mayo: Espectáculo Folklórico y lección de aprendizaje
El último día de nuestra celebración, nos sumergiremos en la belleza del folklórico mexicano. Nuestros estudiantes serán testigos de cautivadoras danzas tradicionales. Como parte del programa, los estudiantes no solo aprenderán sobre la historia y el significado del folklórico, sino que también tendrán la oportunidad de probarse trajes de baile tradicionales y aprender algunos movimientos de baile. Invitamos cordialmente a todos los padres y miembros de la familia Pope Valley a unirse a nosotros en este evento.
